Sky Rocket was imported from Canada as a weanling, and is an outcross to both US and South American imported bloodlines, an important asset for serious llama breeders who are concerned about maintaining genetic health and diversity in their own animals and in the classic llama gene pool as a whole.

Based on his offspring to date, "Rocky" tends to throw the females' coat length (coat type tends to be intermediate between his and the female's) and size. He consistently improves bone size, and improves or enhances natural gait rhythm better than any stud we've seen or used. He is best paired with females who are already reasonably well-muscled and have a lively walk, as his offspring are definitely affected by the females' traits in those areas.

 

Stud service fees:

 

One female (your place) -- $350 plus transportation costs

 

One female (our place) -- $550 plus $2/day board after 30 days.

Negotiation for discounted fees is possible for multiple females and multiple-year bookings for the same female

Booking fee (downpayment to hold your time slot) for all breedings is $100 per female
and is nonrefundable after the female is approved

*Females must be at least 4 years of age at the time of breeding,
should have no serious heritable physical defects,
should exhibit classic or near-classic coat type -- no noncombing, fleeced llamas (including "light wool")
and must be in good health; we reserve the right to treat the female prophylactically for external parasites

**The female's owner at time of conception must be the offspring's current owner
AND the offspring must never have been bred to be eligible for the neuter rebate.
